Outdoor Tiles & Installation

With all the rage and constant spread and growth of the “Go Green” trends, now you can be environmentally friendly and stylish with Tile Metrics’ natural stone outdoor flooring solutions.  Our Eco-friendly tiles and natural stone flooring gives your home warmth and character to establish more of a ‘home’ feeling.  Whether, you want to add a new walkway, repair an old porch, or cover a pool deck, we can design and install outdoor flooring that fits your home needs.   Tile Metrics offers a wide variety of travertine pavers, ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles, and pebble meshes for your outdoor project.

Travertine pavers are made from natural stone material in the limestone family.  It’s a dense, yet pourous material made of calcium carbonate and usually found in or near hot springs.  Large amounts exist in Tivoli, near Rome, Italy and it has been used for thousands of years in construction because of its sturdiness.  Travertine comes in a variety of colors including brown, gold, walnut, and ivory.  Different shades within the slabs blend together to form its charateristic  patterns.

Outdoor Ceramic Tile is made from a mixture of organic materials, and/or red or white clay and is kiln-fired to a finish that is durable and low maintenance.

Outdoor Porcelain Tile, very similar to ceramic tile, is made from porcelain clay.  It’s ideal for commercial and home flooring because of its dense nature, and is virtually wear-proof and low maintenance.

Central Florida Floor Tile Showroom

Tile Floor Showroom in Central FloridaWhile we provide custom tile flooring installation throughout Central Florida, Tile Metrics has a showroom where you can browse our assortment of tile options located in Oviedo, FL.

The first thing you should do when deciding to develop a tile flooring project is to draw a floor plan of the room.  The plan should include all the details and information which could have any bearing on the carrying out of the project:  doors, cabinets, toilets, electricity supplies, among others.  At our showroom we can help you draw out your concept and then set an appointment in order to turn the idea into a tangible plan.

Another largely overlooked planning consideration is the use of cement backerboards.  These are thin concrete sheets that are used to cover plywood subfloors.  Ceramic and stone tiles are not flexible, so they require a more rigid subsurface than other materials.  Cement backerboard provides a solid, flat surface to install tiles on when you have a wood subfloor.

Stop in to our showroom in Oviedo, FL and discuss your plan with one of our Tile Flooring experts.
